Network Ireland, Mayo Branch has announced the election of Anne Conlon as its new president for 2018. The election took place at the recent AGM. Ms Conlon, who is managing director of Castlebar-based Conlon Training since its establishment in 2010, was delighted to accept the nomination. As part of this role Ms Conlon is on the national executive, a role she took up in 2017 as vice president of Network Mayo. She was also appointed to the national sponsorship group in 2017, which is responsible for the funding of all 15 Networks in Ireland.

Swinford man Padraig Peyton has been elected the first honorary president of SIPTU. The Tumgesh, Swinford, native defeated three Dublin based candidates in the recent election which will see him become one of the major players in labour relations matters across the country.
